Hi mates! I'm Hubert and I live in Poland ;) I've been studing Deutsch for few years but actually I'm in very bad shape so I'll be posting in English. I love classic cars. I have besides 100 c2, an MK1 Golf 78', Fiat 126 Steinwinter 250L and Fiat 126 BIS.

I bought Audi from two old farmers ;) Car was on the old barn for almost 10 years, so the mileage is very small and overall condition of the car is good ;)

Hi Hubert and a very warm welcome!
Very nice car, job well done!
I really appreciate that you have spend so much time in the body work and finally that you have re-painted the engine compartment too. It seems that the original paint was indiana-red, wasn´t it?
Your self made loudspeaker for the front doors looks very interesting as I am thinking about something like that as well. But it should be reversible and not destroy the original door panel.

Regarding the rims you should not expect applause from every board member. We love to discuss a lot about tuning stuff on the one hand side and original state on the other ... Some like tuning, others do not appreciate it. That´s life ;-)

Enjoy the car! Maybe you visit us in June in Heubach to present the car? Could be a very nice vacation trip

Kind regards
Maic

Hi Hubert

welcome at the forum! Thanks for the plenty of pictures from your restoration. Nice work!

In my mind the red colour in the engine compartment seems to be rust primer and no indiana-red paint :?:

Enjoy your Audi

Kind regards from Switzerland

Thanks guys for good words ;) About enginebay, like "Manuel" sad, that was a rust primer. The Original paint was an "Diamant-Zweischicht silber L97A". And it still on the car, but refreshed ;)

Loudspeaker panel is reversible with original one. I made only 1 more hole (1,5mm), so it's practically invisable. The interior of the car is too pretty to be ruined by me ;)

About tuning, I like it, but not too much. (OEM+) ;)

I'm very happy that you like restoration photostory. Besides paint, all the work on the car I did by myself, so I'm very proud ;) Here in Poland typ43 is very rare car. Recently I bought an 200c2 for parts, because my 100 has some engine problems.

Cheers!

Hi Hubert,

respect for all the work you did to your car. The result is very nice.

Since I am an original freak, I do not like your wheels at all. They give the car a ghetto bling-bling look    and they don't fit on your beautiful car at all.

Put a set of period correct factory alloys on it. Just my humble opinion.

Hello Hubert! Nice job, for sure. What a lucky guy you are on finding that beauty. His ex-owner kept it in general good condition. And you put a lot of energy on rebuilding the car. Congratulations :-)
Regarding wheels.....hmmmm......agree with the last comment, looks like too much for the car. Have you checked original models for wheels? I like to keep the car as original as I can, and wheels are a problem today for me. The original ones I don't like very much, seems some poor considering the Audi's body. But not all new models can fit well. I don't know, still thinking...

Regards,
Emiliano

Front door sound panels are made by 4 layers of MDF. I connected them by

screws and glue. Then I cut front end from original panels and connected all in one piece. After that I upholstered this and FINITO ;)

About wheels, I actually enjoy them, but I really respect your opinion :)

Meanwhile....

The car looks fantastic! Although I went the different route with my car (Ronal R8 & 175/80/14), I really like the wheels. I've always said that any car can be made to look twice as nice just by slapping BBS RS (or a look-a-like) wheels on it. For a short period of time I had 225/??/17 on my car, it looks badass on such wide tires and handles like a go cart, but the suspension and ride comfort suffer badly, especially on the roads here, so I went for the more period-correct tall-profile tires instead.

Nice catch with the opening triangular glass for the front doors (I don't know the exact expression, we call them butterfly windows here), if I'm not mistaken they were only available on the Audi 5000?
